What is a good way to prepare my skinfor spring? To brighten it up and make it look fresh?

HOLLY: I suggest that my guests come for regular, (every 4-6 weeks) Vx Facials, or at the very least, seasonal facials. During a facial, your esthetician can help you pick out a few items to boost your skin and help it look fresh.  It is important to re-evaluate your routine seasonally, since as the weather changes, your skin's hydration levels change too.

What basic makeup items would you recommend for a girl on the go who can't spend much time in front of the mirror? Especially for day going into night?

HOLLY: I consider myself a girl on the go! I always keep in my purse: Skin-The-Bluff Concealer, Ooh-La-Lash! Mascara, Antioxidant 2-Way Powder and a couple of the Sheer Lip Tint Lipsticks. For night, I reapply a bit of the concealer and powder, re-coat my mascara and use one of the deeper lip shades. In all,it takes about 5 minutes to be ready for after-work fun!

In my 40's are bright lips a do or don't?

JESSICA: Definitely a do! Bold lips are always in style and can be a great way to mix up your routine. Opt for classic colors that are sophisticated and ladylike. For spring, coral is chic and looks great on all skin tones.Try Velvet Matte Lipstick in Babe. Thinking something more classic? Try a rich red like Paint The Town Red. This silky smooth finish is timeless and works well for everyday wear.

Should I change my makeup colors from winter to spring? If so, what ones, lips, eyes, blush?

HOLLY: Since winter months typically welcome the darker lip colors and deeper, jewel toned eyeshadows, I always recommend adding in some brighter, lighter colors as the cold weather starts to disappear! I would suggest Subtle Shine Lipstick in Strawberry Fields for lips and Two True Hues Eyeshadow in Elemental Beauty for eyes.

As the mother of a rambunctious two-year-old, I don’t have time for touch-ups. Any tips for how to help my eye makeup last throughout the day?

JESSICA: Any artist knows that priming the canvas is vital to the outcome of the masterpiece. The same holds true for your eyes! To ensure lasting power, start with moisturized skin. Add a thin layer of Skin The Bluff Concealer to your lid space working upward to meet the eyebrow. Simply priming your lids before applying eye shadow will guarantee long lasting wear all the day through!

Loving the bold brow that is popping up on the runway lately. How can a “real woman” pull this off without looking like I need a pair of tweezers?

JESSICA: I am so glad the days of overly tweezed brows are a thing of the past! Big, beautiful brows are right on trend and can add a nice point of symmetry to the face. Forget eyebrow pencils. The result can be too stark, and they are often packed with waxes that can irritate the sensitive eye area. Instead, the key is to use a powder that is slightly darker than your natural brow color. (H)Eyebrow Eye + Brow Liner is great because you can custom blend the two-toned palette. Dab an angled brush like Skintelligent Beauty Eye Definer Brush into the powder and lightly stipple into your brows. Start at the “tail” of the brow and work inward, using less powder as you get closer to the center. Finish the look by brushing brows upward with the Skintelligent Beauty Brow + Lash Groomer.

Is a BB cream enough to use as a moisturizer, SPF and coverage for someone with dry skin?  Is the SPF 30 in VMV’s Skintangible enough to last me all day?

HOLLY: Our take on a BB Cream, Skintangible, does provide a good boost of each. If your skin is very dry, though, I would recommend using it over, not as, your moisturizer. And, if you plan to be out and about in the sun, additional SPF should be applied. The Armada Sport 70 is my favorite!
